Ok, so this is actually happening. The first call the union got regarding SL lines not being bought up to BLG was in January...would be nice to get a notification from the MEC a la KCM uniform message, because guys are getting unpleasantly surprised with this caveat (read “unanticipated situation” by our union contract experts).

PNP vs buy up to blg is addressed 25.D.2.G.

The events the company use to not buy up a Secondary Line to blg (case in point, Pilot gets 55 hr built into his SL in an 85 hr bid month and company gives him PNP to bring him up to average...30 hrs to fish out of open time)

These events are 1. If you’re bidding a SL during a training month and protecting min days off you could end up getting a line that falls short of BLG and not be bought up. But given PNP to bring you up.

2. If you have Carryover and don’t designate the hours (didn’t really understand this one) then same deal.

That’s all I could find out. CE is very aware of this, give them a call.

True statement. The SIG knows and is changing how they build the bid packs so it stops happening. And I wish the Union would put something out about this. And I am not on the SIG. Was told about it by a friend on the SIG. And it is complete BS! Yet again, we get duped by shady language in the Contract again.

But, more disturbing is the recent story I heard yesterday. Not sure if it’s true, but.....I heard of two cases where guys bid Secondary lines and these awards lines were not built to BLG.

Instead of buying these lines up to BLG, these pilots were given PNP. In one case, the line built for August (5week bid) was built to 55 hours and not bought up. Instead he was given 12 hours of PNP in his make up bank. The other case was a Captain who got the same deal. Word is, CE told them that’s the way it goes basically....

We need to investigate this...I’ll be contacting my rep today.
