FWIW, I put VAR (for Type/model) as a combined tally for SEL and they were ok with it. They did take the time to look over my logbooks closely during the panel and asked questions; I'd give them the courtesy to prepare your answers.

I guess I’ll have to pull out my old dusty log books... but they seriously want to know *every* hour of every aircraft you’ve flown? I have a list of my aircraft types and total hours in each one.. what they ask you on airlineapps.. but they want to know night hours, landings in that a/c.... that will require digging out the old logs- I'm
assuming a wild guess will just make you look bad if you actually get an interview and they decide to take a peak inside your logs ?

If they’ve turned down a former shuttle pilot (true story).. they appear to be quite particular, Lol.
But I also know of a former colleague who was hired there from my regional who had told me he’d not kept a logbook in over 10 years... so somehow he suddenly remembered his time and landings and must’ve gotten writers cramp and an interview and job.

oh well... it’s a pipe dream to fly purple aircraft, so worth the effort to work at getting it right..

There’s really no good way to get your times organized, so that you can input the info as requested on the app, other than an electronic logbook. Yes it’s a ton of work. But when you’re finished, you can easily filter the specific times you need for the app. I had my wife and mother in law working on inputting my paper logs for weeks. I was working tirelessly on it as well. It’s worth it. Put in the time. Outsource if you have to. Get your family to help. There is nothing easy about getting the interview, and then passing the interview. If you put in the effort, it’s doable. And we are hiring from all backgrounds so don’t count yourself out.

Last summer, I paid my 15 year old to enter my 20+ years of paper log books into excel which I then imported into an electronic logbook. Makes the apps soooo much easier. And yeah, it seems a bit tedious to enter that 152 time from 20 odd years ago but if that's what Fedex wants me to do, that's what I do.

As an aside, we caught several math errors in the process so it was worth it just for the sake of accuracy.

Why whinge about the effort of sifting through your own logbooks to gather the appropriate data about your experience for your application, only to finish it off by saying it is "worth the effort"?

I don’t think you know the meaning of a pipe dream.

Application ?

I don’t know how reputable they are but found this online. Seems like it would be money well spent.

I'm going to say this very nicely. I wish we would hire more civilian pilots. However; if you're not wiling to put forth your best application and at least *try* to dust off your logbooks and list your applicable flying time, then please GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. WE ... or at least I don't want you here. And I sure as heck don't want you flying with me.

This is NOT a McDonald's minimum wage job.

Warning: APC is not as anonymous as you think.

I didn’t say I wasn’t willing. I just know of someone who hadn’t kept a logbook in a decade- clearly they fudged /re-worked times... I mostly have my landings and hours logged and am more than willing to take the time to get it entered.
im sure you’ve flown with someone who didn’t put forth their best effort, unbeknownst to you.

APC isn’t anonymous?? Is that a threat? You know who I am?? Ok... well, PM me my name and I’ll tell you if you’re right or not.

Question on the app. The education summary section where it asks about high school. Number of years to obtain a high school diploma/ged. Did you guys put down 4 (high school years) or 12 (total school years)? Thanks.

I used their services a few years ago. Pricey, but completely worth it in my opinion. They caught a few of my errors during the process. Logten pro makes entering flight times on an app a non issue. Worth the money in my opinion to not have to worry about it again.
