21-01 Practice Bid
#21
My guess is OAK and IND captains and first officers will train out pretty quickly so they can get the flying to those bases. Happened that way last time.

The last bid closed less than a year ago. How are you doing the math? What percentage did you hold 57C at on last bid? If you held it at 95-100% it would make logical sense that you would train towards the end of the training letter. If you go to training prior to your relative seniority then you actually had a win.

I don’t know about 3 years…lat bid closed Nov/Dec ‘20. Most seats are trained out. 75 will be by May. So…18mos at the most. I’d guess at worst a little over 2 years with the new bid with a good possibility of getting inversed like several have in past bids. You could be looking anywhere from 6mo-2.5yrs

Oh no, you are suppose to shed a tear and back up his overly stated and inflated comments. The poor guy held a captain seat at 95-100% and had to wait on training until after senior people trained. Don’t provide facts.
He sounds like one of those millennials who wants everything and wants it now!!! To heck with seniority as compared to available slots.

That was supposed to be an 18-20 month bid. With that in mind, we are ahead of schedule on that bid. Hints the reason we ran another one at less than a year from closing of bid 20-02. Many seats from 20-02 are almost trained out. Many of those NB FO’s are on SDP or Newhire Jr activation pay (WB pay) while still enjoying seniority in the right seat of a narrow body. Numerous guys I know are in this position. They have had the best of both worlds. WB pay and seniority on a NB.

trained out for new hires, not trained out for people awaiting ITU from one FO seat to another. Tons of people awaiting training.

I was in that position a few years ago. When I complained to the union, I was told I wasn’t missing out on anything because I was on Passover pay. I explained the loss of per diem, intl override and QOL. They stood by their view.
