DART provides better tracking and members of the MEC are also copied on it. More eyes on the issue which provides better resolution. To the submitter who cares if it's a DART or an email?
Much bigger fish to fry and you know this, not sure why you're complaining but that is your natural state.
Response times are frustrating. A 24/7 hotline staffed with legal muscle is probably not something this pilot group is willing to pay for.

I'd rather pay for 24/7/365 contract support.

I also like the idea of a hotline, but its not an and or proposition. Staffing the hotline appears to be the biggest issue. Having pilots give actual guidance puts them in a huge liability position. We have pilots that wouldn't think twice to sue another pilot. Its been done in this industry numerous times at FDX and other properties.

I'm almost positive those events don't have free booze, but a cash bar. Against the bylaws I think to buy alcohol. At least that's how it was when I attended them when I lived in domicile a few years ago. Many of those who actually show up and attend unity events like them. Those who choose not to show up don't get those things. Just like many things in life. You cant be mad at those that actually show up and participate. This would be like saying we shouldn’t try to improve reserve rules because im not on reserve or we shouldn’t improve new hire pay rates because I had to go through low pay first year. Get it?

I’m actually in favor of supplying a few drinks for those who show up. Not unreasonable just like any other social gatherings.

Just called a bro who went to contract kickoff rally and the booze was not free. Same as zoo lights it had no free booze. I think PUB events can have alcohol due to it not being an “official” union meeting.

Zoo’s don’t sell alcohol. How is this news? ALPA supplies/pays for alcohol at certain events. I don’t think it should be allowed at all. Pay your own dam booze tab. It was abused at my last outfit and really ****ed a lot of people off, myself included. Why should I pay for someone else to cut loose and party?
Show up and then you would be buying yourself a beer. I think those who show up also pay dues so they are buying themselves a beer also. Im sure they would be glad to have you and greet you with a cold brew. I guess we agree to disagree.

There was an MEC resolution introduced years ago by the then block 11 rep to end Alcohol purchases during events and it failed 13 to 1.
I am not opposed to the union purchasing a drink or two, but we all know that is not what is happening.
Heck if it got a couple hundred pilots or more to an event, I would serve the drinks. But there would be a limit. Those meetings are about information and unity.

I agree that official union meetings should be absent of alcohol but social events or PUB events are in the normal to have adult beverages. It’s common in all businesses. We are adults after all.

By the turnout of that vote it appears the majority agree with me then.

I agree that official union meetings should be absent of alcohol but social events or PUB events are in the normal to have adult beverages. It’s common in all businesses. We are adults after all.
