Default LCA schedule

UPS pilot and am wondering what your LCA schedules look like. Are they part check airman and part line captain? Do they get displaced to perform LCA duties when observing from the jumpseat? At UPS currently our line LCA only instruct but who knows what the future holds. Thanks.

We are hiring at max throughput right now so LCA are more or less doing exclusively OE right now for new hires and upgrades.

Months that they do OE, usually they bid a line and the FOs get bought off for the OE student. If they’re doing LCs, route checks, ETOPs training, etc they are what we call pay only. They will have trips built by the training department those months.
