TA???? Rumors???

Formal negotiations begin 1Sept24, amendable date 1Sept25, joint petition for mediation if no agreement by 11Sept25.

Don't be surprised if IPA pilots are honoring a UPS Teamsters strike next August.

Thank you for setting the low bar to build from.

Well, considering it is an extension. I'll leave it to ALPA to set the bar high.

An extension sets the bar lower just by being an extension? The first extension doesn’t take affect until this September correct? The second extension just voted on would layer on top and take affect 2024/2025?

I think saying it’s an extension so we should expect less is a path towards nowhere. Probably a bad narrative?

This isn’t throwing stones just saying don’t expect less just because “it’s an extension”. Especially in this environment.

at least it’s something. Not sure where in world we r. Absence if ANY rallies or picketing or anything leaves me less than optimistic. UPS will be 8% above us in a few weeks and we will be….about same place we were a year ago with zero and plan to move forward. But hey we have “plans” to fight in sep according to the SPSC.

seems like management has floated a lot of rumors about an impending deal but talk to your reps to see what they’ve heard….zero. It’ll be a miracle if we get something passable on next 6 weeks.

Must have a lot of free time. This is the second extension. The extension is what it sounds like, kicking the can down the street. I'm not happy with it, but it is something to build upon. So again, feel free to build upon it.

FDX folks should understand the dynamic behind IPA Extension 2 that they don't face: a potential (I'd argue likely) UPS Teamsters strike on 1Aug23. Because of the very high possibility of that occuring for the first time since 1997, our CEO ordered all corporatewide resources with the authority to negotiate/agree to substantive items with IPA to Teamsters until their National Master and local Supplemental Agreements were completed. There are 350k Teamsters who can strike when their contract expires vs. 3400 pilots who can't strike until 30 days after NMB release, meaning we'd likely have 12-18 months of practically nothing being done in negotiations.

While not perfect, our extension continues annual raises to rates that will lead the industry as of 1Sept22, and increases/extends the Flat Dollar benefit for two more years, capturing hundreds more pilots, while we wait for the Teamsters issue to be resolved. When formal negotiations do begin in two years, hopefully other pilot groups (such as FDX) will have ratified agreements that exceed us to provide a pattern bargaining target.

Can you explain how that would work?
