Default I’m confused….

We held a strike vote because the company wouldn’t even match UPS rates despite the long list of concessions we gave them early on in the negotiating process….

then two weeks later we get a TA that doesn’t even match UPS rates until what, 2025?

Why did the NC pivot/throw in the towel?

I want to find a good reason to vote yes just to understand the NC’s position on this but there’s literally none unless you’re retiring this year.

UPS WB pay rate in September 2023 goes up to $276/hr and our NB rate never gets higher than UPS, so I don't really follow what you are saying.

That being said, a less than inflation pay rate and insulting retirement is a BIG NO for me.

Retirement. They are consistent in justifying their positions with the survey results. Selling out anyone with more than a few years left to improve retirement wasn't a choice we were anticipating.

I was around in 2015. I saw grown men basically weeping because we hadn't "fixed" retirement.

Well, it's fixed now. That's what we wanted, I guess.

(Search my name on this forum....I've been advocating freezing the A fund since 2005 or so.....For just the reasons people are so mad about. I need money now, not when I'm 65.)

👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻 A fund should of been kept normal and added a b-fund with cash over cap…19 yrs ago. That would of been real money by now. ALPA or someone has really dropped the ball and you cant get those 19 yrs back…but i know plenty who have made $$$$ doing all sorts of xtra or great gamesmanship in those 19rs, which looks like they are curbing in this contract.

Talk about division…. Cancelling the A plan for new hires is the dumbest thing ever…. A plan will be gone next contract if this passes.. They will vote it away easily!

I prefer the term "Retirement B-Scale".

It's not that simple. ERISA law prevents reducing a benefit under a pension plan that already has been earned. A vote could certainly be taken to freeze the DB, but people would keep what they've already earned. Outside distress termination, you don't just get to vote someone's pension away.
