Why FDX

After this TA, why would a new hire want to come here?

Our retirement will be on par with Pax airlines but with no CoC. Student lines are a major concession and are non industry standard. SUB is still a thing and non industry standard.
No profit sharing.
Loss of 60% of our day flying with the postal contract renegotiation next year.
Memphis continues to slide into a worsening hellish landscape of crime and wreckless driving.

Maybe 777 flying is attractive enough to some to risk being a domestic bro doing night hub turns or sitting reserve in the most dangerous city in America?

We get free popcorn and coffee during hub turns!

FedEx has never thought ahead as far as pilots go. They hire too many, they hire too few, they're always behind the curve. But right now it appears that they aren't thinking about attracting new hires, they're thinking about how to get rid of them. If they make things look bad enough, people will leave and they have to put out less furlough pay.

No doubt we have extra pilots. But union posted the furlough idea without showing SAM. Makes ALPA appear to be leading with fear & not facts.

Not true. But nice try. If this place sucks so much, there are tons of opportunities out there.

It was mentioned at some point, once, and only once.

USPS wants to truck more, though there has been a trucker shortage. So we’ll see how users of USPS like slower service for the same price. Could push more business to FedEx and UPS.

Quite the opposite of wreckless when there's a wreck in every corner.

Someone did the math not too long ago - we're still a significant amount of block hours away from 4a2b, let alone 2c. But at the latest TA roadshow, ALPA conveniently skipped over 2b (BLG reduction) and went straight to 2c (furlough) without showing any numbers. Selling the TA purely on fear. Unsat

*sigh* The usual broken record from a broken old FedEx pilot…if you don’t like it leave. How about something new like let’s make it a better place for everyone? You really do need to go away but I’m sure you’re hoping age 67 passes so you can make all of your FOs miserable for at least two more years.

Here here. There are some new faces in the ranks who are willing to stand up for what they're worth. Don't worry Stockholm syndrome sufferers, we will bring you a better contract soon enough.

The whole point of this thread is why new hires would come here. You literally proved my point by telling me to go elsewhere. And when people read this interaction, I wouldn’t blame them for looking elsewhere.

look at the title of the thread, Stan. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel at this point.

This place certainly sucks. The absolute worst airline for a pilot to be at right now and this garbage TA further confirms this. I sincerely hope we throw it in the trash and if that results in a furlough then so be it. Hopefully the stock will tank and Raj will get kicked to the curb where he belongs.

Unfortunately most investors love “efficiency” which is what we’re being DRIVEN to. Raj will be hailed as the person responsible for “turning the company around” and making the investors rich through dividends and buy backs. If this TA passes then even more so…

great. Let them do it without us. Maybe Raj will outsource our jobs to his homeland.

Stan,

Please tell us why someone would want to be a new hire here??? Granted, there ain't gonna be any new hires here for a while, but this is a 2nd tier major, NOW! With the proposed TA this place is worse than an LCC. I guess things are good for you though, right?

No, we have plenty of pilots getting into wrecks in Memphis.
