Nope did not say that. I said "except the triple" in regard to the 12-15% below contractual BLG that most are getting paid. That seems like something everyone should have a bone about with FedEx. 68 Min BLG now with many below 60 hours. My response to other poster was that I acknowledged that Triple guys are also down relative to the past, but the BIG PROBLEM (can we please agree?) is when pilots are getting paid less than the BLG the contract guarantees. Because the CBA has no objective prescription for calculation of the SAM and because FedEx affords no respectful transparency to the pilot group, that number has been manipulated in bad faith by FedEx. So besides industry lagging pay, we are FURTHER DOWN from there by virtue of unilaterally lowered BLGs.

Can we all just put that blame with where it belongs? Or should we split hairs?

That End of 2025 Salary Survey thread is going to eye opening to a lot of prospective pilots.

Purple WB Captains posting earnings less than $250K while the company continues with stock buybacks is not a good look.

Pilots don’t have a short memory and the generational damage is already done.

Got a friend of mine interested in FedEx. Are you guys making any progress at all with a contract? Did the company really offer you guys an opportunity to go to PSA during contract negotiations or is that just a joke/rumor? I hope you guys get a contract you deserve and soon.

If/when we hire again get ready for some doozies in the FO seat nearest you. We will be seeing the application pool saturated with lower tier pilots and the Company will favor those applicants that probably can’t be hired by a Legacy. Get ready to instruct again, Captains.

1) no, 2) yes

Tell your friend NEVER TO CONSIDER FEDEX FOR EMPLOYMENT. Just about any other place would be better.

GENERATIONAL DAMAGE!

I wish I could say I was kidding, but I am not.

Yeah… A regional with flow is much better than us and I doubt we’re hiring for more than a year.

Pilots have a short memory, if we get a good contract then we will be on the top of everyone’s list.

The contract allows the BLG's to be where they are. There is a definition of how the SAM is calculated and the SIG knows how the company is doing it. Does that mean that the company didn't manipulate the system by reducing the number of reserves, requiring more pilots to fly the same number of trips available and thereby reducing the SAM, no! The company definitely made a calculated decision, probably based on projected savings. I'm not defending it, but it is business and we are complicit in helping them accomplish their goal. The company correctly figured that if they reduced the number of reserves that the flying would still be picked up through open time and draft even if they didn't have enough reserves to cover it. So, how has their bet paid off?

While I agree that most of the blame lies with the company, everyone should realize that this hasn't happened in a vacuum. Our side has made many mistakes as well to put us in our current position.

Why is he interested? Is he interested in a shorter life span?...Discounted CPAP?...Sleep apnea?...Industry-lagging pay rates?...Industry lagging quality of life?...15 minute reserve call-out?... Being revised 80+ hours beyond your original trip?

Have your friend seriously do some digging and asking around to line pilots. Strongly advise against the sell job of recruiting events (if they ever happen again). Many management pilots haven't even turned a wheel in decades and haven't felt the pain of our 1960s work rules.

Yes, you are definitely defending it and victim-splaining. It appears you are very reluctant to place anything clearly on the company. Was the guy who was provoked by his wife when he beat the snot out of her, contributory to the situation? Yes, maybe if you are trying to defend the wife beater. Yet it is the wife beater who is convicted--not the provoking wife. Stop defending the wife beater. Seriously.
