Default Laundry in CAN

Anyone know of easily accessible place to get laundry done in CAN, close to china hotel?

Older posts referenced a place by the paddy field, out by the garden hotel.

IIRC there is a cleaners in the lobby area.....past the Starbucks and right before the China Post. They might do laundry....

Hey guys, I need to get some laundry done in CAN. Does anybody have an update on a reasonable place near the China Marriott to get laundry done. I have a 48 hr. L/O, so should have plenty of time. Thanks in advance.

Last time I was there I didn't know about the place near Starbucks and I couldn't find anything else in walking distance. Ended up using the hotel service. They give us a discount and it's quick enough, but still expensive.

If you discover that there IS really a laundry near the Starbucks, please post back.

I found this online forum of family's that go to CAN to adopt children. They are talking about finding laundry facilities near the China Hotel and nobody seems to know of a place close by. They talk about going to Shamian Island to get laundry done there. I guess I'll just get a few pieces cleaned at the hotel.

I am resurrecting this nearly two year old thread to perform a community service.

Just got back to my room after a successful laundry trip in Guangzhou.

I just KNEW there had to be someplace close that was relatively reasonable!

The "dirty" details.

Needed to be cleaned:

2- Uniform Shirts
3- Undershirts
1- Pullover Long sleeve shirt
1- Long sleeve button up shirt
3- Short sleeve shirts
5- pair of unerpants
2- pair of socks

Found a place near another one of the Guangzhou landmarks.

From the China hotel walk to Sino hotel. Just past Sino hotel take a right at the corner. Walk down approx 50-75 meters to first street on LEFT.

As of May 31st 2017.. this shop is on the right side of street... Turn left (opposite)

But anyway...

after you make the first left... keep walking STRAIGHT. Just after the corner, the road branches to the left.. keep on the straight path.

About 50-70 meters, the place is on the right..

Chinese characters in Blue and white.. There are some numbers that say

8:00 200

There is a yellow pricing list on the left wall as you are facing the shop. I even saw a first officer blazer hanging from the ceiling racks.

Now the good part. Dropped of on Tuesday midday, and promised pickup time noon the following day.

all total: 133 yuan.

Clothes nicely folded and in clear plastic packaging.

Brought it back to the China hotel and asked the cleaners in the same hallway with the Starbucks... how much they would have charged me for this service.

Their answer 425 yuan.

So all in all a good experience... not the most awesome cheap price for laundry I have paid in the system.. but waaaay better than a lot of other places I have had my clothes cleaned.

I hope this information helps.

Cheers!

JP

Default Another option

Have the hotel pick up from and drop off your stuff to the room. It is deductible on your taxes as a business expense.

Which would be great if it weren't for a little thing called AMT...

Just had a bag of things washed through this place. <10min walk from the hotel. I talked her into a CNĄ30 premium for same day service. I dropped it off around 10, and she said it would be ready by 1400. Everything was separated, folded and placed by type in clear plastic bags.
