I recall that the MD11 and DC10 had nose gear tethers that had to be in place when loading/offloading. I wonder if the tether was improperly put in place.

Tethering is just one of several methods to mitigate an unnatural yoga pose for an airplane.

Not sure if it was him or not, who was quoted, but one particular Olive Branch CFI owns a flight school there & is or was an MD-11 Captain for FDX.

So he's got that going for him, which is nice.
