Do we have a ta on the way?

Sounds like we may be getting close.

fr8av8r 08-19-2015 07:00 AM

Just because we may be down to one or two last items, doesn't necessarily mean we're "close".

Nightflyer 08-19-2015 07:12 AM

"Having gotten several inquiries on the topic, I thought it best as your Council Chairman to engage in a bit of rumor control: There is no TA. Rest assured that when and if your MEC reaches a tentative agreement with the company you will be notified immediately."

Just saw this in my email from a block rep.

Busdrivr 08-19-2015 07:18 AM

Don't confuse a "TA" with a "our final and best offer".

What company? Miami Air?

Redeyz 08-19-2015 10:20 AM

Can pilots from companies OTHER than FDX get on this site?

If you are happy you're not allowed to post

Delta has their own board, why won't the site owners give us our own board?

They have tried it in the past. The Cargo forum shrivels up quicker then Bill during a Hillary screech.

Nightflyer 08-19-2015 01:18 PM

In that case, just change the title "Cargo" forum to "FedEx".

I'd be ok with that.

It's almost 5 o'clock Elvis.

I wonder if we will get our answer today, or if they will table the discussion until tomorrow.

You must have just read my mind. I was literally thinking the same thing.

Answer given. MEC has TA to review

"After a briefing from the Negotiating Committee earlier today, the MEC passed the following resolution concerning contract negotiations:

Whereas, the MEC has received a full briefing concerning a mediation framework designed to lead to a tentative agreement,

Whereas, the MEC has fully considered the merits of turning the mediation framework into a tentative agreement,

Whereas, the MEC believes that the mediation framework represents an agreement in principle,

Therefore be it resolved that the MEC instructs the Negotiating Committee to complete language related to the mediation framework so that the MEC may review it as a tentative agreement."

Someone care to explain exactly what this means?

Are we entering into mediation?

Or do we already have a TA?

My opinion, they have tentatively agreed on numbers and said make a TA. They can stil vote no.

Ha. That's what I was thinking. Hopefully the TA is written in plain English because I gave up Shakespearean legalize for lent.

Also, Frontseat wouldn't get to play guard nazi anymore since 99% of his posts, he can't figure out if the subject applies to him.

Nightflyer 08-19-2015 04:22 PM

See my post in the fruitful week thread.

I think they prefer the term Guard Ranger. Front seat can be chief Thread Ranger.

I haven't heard any numbers yet on the contract?

Left Coast MD11 08-21-2015 08:35 AM

Pay numbers I heard floating around over a month ago were 11% at signing, 3%, 3%, 3%, 2%. For me, that clearly isn't enough. Obviously, we need to wait and see the entire package before making any decision though.
Again, just rumors, but, those were the only "numbers" I had heard from multiple sources.

MEMA300 08-21-2015 09:07 AM

I heard 18%, then 3% every year after.
11% will not get voted in unless big b-fund additive. That was from a DAL guy

Left coast's numbers sound like they are before Delta heroically voted down their TA. I am going to buy 65% of the Delta guys I meet beer.

I heard 10% now, then 3 thereafter.

Never Pass if true. Oh, what am I thinking. There are 50% Fred lovers ready to vote on anything Fred gives out.

But seriously, 10% would be an insult. That is inflation only.

Needs to be $310 an Hour for WB at 2015. Not 2021. So 17% MINIMUM!!!!

MaxKts 08-21-2015 09:43 AM

3% per year may keep up with current inflation but that is probably going to change soon.

What it doesn't do is make up for all the years it didn't keep up!

Rothladoad 08-21-2015 09:52 AM

Gang all we can hope is our NC was not prepared to show our MEC anything but a TA that we would agree with. I haven't voted yes yet for any of our contracts, I really would like to vote yes this time! I don't believe in rumors (as I see a lot of now) so will just wait as not a whole lot more I can do.

globalflair 08-21-2015 10:37 AM

Ok….I'm sorry but if you don't love Fred then you are working for the wrong company!

Commando 08-21-2015 01:38 PM

If you honestly think that actual inflation is only 3% you really need to do some serious research on the market price increases of goods over the course of the last 5 years, it's not even CLOSE. Hint: try looking at the increased price of food products.....

So, it sounds like we have a vote coming. Interesting the two senior blocks voted against.

Rothladoad 08-22-2015 05:30 AM

If in fact senior blocks voted against it, more than likely so will I.

Nightflyer 08-22-2015 06:49 AM

I forget, is block 11 the instructors?
