Up to 5-Year Freeze on Lateral and Down Bids
Section 24 now increases your freeze on lateral bids for up to 5 years. After your 3rd lateral or down bid. And it's a career cumulative.
Your 1st time 24 months. Ok. Cool. Second and third time, 3 years. 4th time and subsequent 5 years each
Huge give back. Current contract was always 24 month freeze if requiring ITU training.
Let's say you are an FO. Hold A300 FO MEM. Want to go to LA. 1 Lateral -- 24 months. After which you see you are stuck at 90% as Md11 FO LAX due to senior base and little movement there. You determine your QOL would be better at 40% MEM 767 FO. 2nd LATERAL -- 36 months.
Upgrade to 757 Capt MEM then later can hold A300 capt. So you upgrade. No restriction here. But you really want to live in LA. Can later hold MD11 Capt LAX. --- 3rd Lateral-- 36 months. After 1 year you really want that 777 you now can hold but you have to wait 2 more years. So then, after the 36 months, you go to 777, making it your 4th lateral/Down bid--- so now, you have to spend 5 years in 777 before you can move ANYWHERE except FDA.
QOL is degraded

Under the other provisions of this POS, that one guy's movement could have potentially "excessed" about 30 people against their will.
I guess they needed another bad clause to back up this bad clause.
