Default FedEx DFW Ramp to Main Terminal

Jumpseating in to DFW...

What's the easiest way to get from the ramp to the main terminal?

Uber. Less than $10. Or if you're feeling really cheap, walk under the bridge to the Marriott and hitch a ride.

Does Uber work from the pax terminals to the cargo employee parking lot?

I guess what I am asking is, is Uber allowed to pick you up at the terminal?

Also, can you expense Uber rides?

Obviously, I have never used Uber, but it sounds like a good idea.

My Uber account has my Fedex Credit Card attached to it. Uber is no different than a cab ride, as far as expensing.

Can't answer the other parts.

Yep, They will pick you up in the blue zone outside each baggage claim. I have used them there a bunch.

Yes, you can expense Uber rides. Beware that in some cities there are NO Uber rides to be had. i.e. you want to leave hotel to go catch a commercial DH flight at o'dark thirty. They should be able to pick you up at a PAX terminal like a taxi. Best to make your request know when summoning an Uber.

Yes. Sometimes it takes some clever pin-dropping to outsmart some of the auto-features of the app (e.g. if you drop a pin at FedEx Main Ramp at DFW, the pin automatically jumps to Terminal A because the app assumes that because you're on airport property, you must be a passenger at the terminal. Simple fix is drag the pin just outside of the airport boundary and then call the Uber driver once you've requested the ride and tell him/her where you're at, they'll come get you. It's easier to understand once you've done it once or twice).

Yes. Until recently though, DFW only allowed Uber Black and Uber SUV (which are both about 4 times the price of Uber X). Uber pushed hard and got the city to open the floodgates, so now all forms of Uber (X, XL, SUV, and Black) are available at all terminals in DFW

Heck yeah, why not? They email you your receipt. And there's no exchange of cash during the Uber ride. Get in, enjoy the ride, get out, simple as that. It's all handled in the "cloud."

Uber is the future, welcome aboard

I used to flag down the Parking Spot van dude and hand him a 10 spot for the trouble.

Some won't do it because they say they'll get fired. That's what I did in '09-'10 when I was out there a lot.

What was the outcome? Did anyone end up using Uber? If so, how'd it go?

Uber was perfect. Showed up to the ramp in less than 10 minutes.
