FedEx pilot candidate in tears, bitter, upset

Don't be this guy.
Georgette Braun: Poplar Grove pilot in hard times in U.S. finds new life in China - News - Rockford Register Star - Rockford, IL
"But in 2013, he was out at the package carrier. He said training was insufficient. And a test-giver had an internal beef with FedEx, and as a result, he ended up failing a team simulated flight test, while his partner passed. "This is unheard of since it's the crew that should pass or fail," Medina said."
Say what???? We weren't doing team simulator or SBIs during that time frame.

You could be right. I've never heard of anyone getting fired during training. And busting a flight simulator doesn't get you fired. I know many who busted a sim and they're still with us. Sounds fishy.

I've never heard of anyone getting fired for one sim failure, not even a maneuvers-eval or an LOE, but they definitely have policies in the FOM to terminate someone who fails and continues to perform poorly in subsequent training/checks.
The problem with the story is you have a writer who's obviously ignorant of the industry reporting what they were told by a pilot who messed up. I'm sure he didn't lay out all the gory details, if only out of embarrassment.
In any case, the writer's intent was a feel-good story on how great it is this guy "recovered" and gets to live and work in glorious China. Because mean ol' FedEx.

Just another poorly written piece about aviation written by a journalist who doesn't know aviation. A little better research and better understanding of the who, how and why's of how pilots train and get hired and it would be clearer what happened. As it is, the main emphasis of this article is about moving to China. How and why it happened is secondary.

I think it means the Flex or LCA didn't like his job so he took it out on the crew, or at least with this guy.

I've heard some back story on this internally. That may be the story he is saying publicly, but not what the rumors are internally. Rumors indicate that he was not cut out to fly the MD.
