I got benched for 2 weeks about twelve years ago after forgetting about a jumpseat I had booked (schedule changed bc of trip trading). Wasn't working anyhow so didn't impact me but put the fear of Jesus in me about remembering to cancel. Have cancelled last minute on various occasions for the reasons others have listed and never got any grief from JA.
