Default Upgrade at Flexjet

Oldest son is in the middle of his 1st captain's trip. He had his sim. check and IOE last July. Due to some training mix ups and a/c delivery problems, his actual 1st trip was about 32 months after hire. In case anyone was curious.

He seems pretty happy, in that he will get 3 pay raises this year.
1. F/o to Ca raise for the rest of March and April.
2. Another raise when new pay rates go into effect in May.
3. Annual pay raise in July.
He thinks the Challenger is about another 3 years down the road, but not sure if he would rather remain somewhat senior on the Lear. A lot can change in 3 years. Just thought y'all might be interested for planning purposes.

That's what I hear, you need some prety good seniority to hold Challenger 300 PIC. I heard 8 years from a FX guy, don't know if that's true.

Congrats to your son

I am sure he appreciates all the well wishers. It's been a long road. Including flying checks all night long, years ago, to flying for 2 airlines that went under. Vanguard, in his second week of training and Southeast[not ASA] after 6 months and a week before Christmas. Another perk is on this 1st[present] trip, they couldn't get into Du Page, MDW, or ORD, due to wx. Wound up in Gary, Indiana, and got to spend both Easter and his birthday on the road, not with his family. It's the dues we all pay.

Flex is currently challenged by a lack of training slots for Challenger 300 F/O's. I understand some CA upgrades are being moved back to the right seat of the Challenger - presumably at CA pay rates - to fill the gap.

Easter Dinner at Popeye's Chicken. Just like Mom used to make.
