the thought of somebody going from zero to teaching others how to fly in 9 months is perturbing.

I hate to say it, but ATP changed their program to 9 months which i still think is one of the fastest ways to get your ratings? Not sure what other schools guarantee 9 months. There was a good bit of older people at my location.

From 90 days to 9 months? How do they stretch what they used to do in 90 days to 9 months?

The "zero to hero" program track used to be 10 months (IIRC), but apparently they condensed it a bit.

They did have a 90 day fast track at one time and that's how they used to advertise. It was from zero to CFI I believe. I Googled to make sure and some of the info I found out about it came from back in like 2006. You can even find old threads here that discuss it.

I vaguely remember something along those lines. Seems like at some point they decided to advertise in terms of calendar days rather than training days, as training events are generally not conducted on weekends and certain holidays.

They used to have a self paced program and the zero-to-hero program. They got rid of the self-paced instead focusing all of their efforts on the faster one.

The times used to be
120 days PPL-to-hero if you already had your PPL
180 days zero-to-hero if you didn't have your PPL.

Current times are
180 days PPL-to-hero
9 months zero-to-hero

It doesn't even have to be 9 months, under their old system someone could get everything done in 6 months with some luck

Here we go with the 90 days. Even had a 60 days. Went to the "way back machine" and found it.
