Hello i'm brand new to this forum all though i've been reading this forum for the last 2 months.
I'm a student pilot currently. I have a few questions to ask you airplane owners, pilots and instructors. Can I go out even though i'm a student and buy an airplane a cessna 152 or 172 and rent it out for instructors to fly. What I would like to do is purchase an airplane with an ifr package and rent out the plane to the instructor for a very very modest price actually all the would have to pay is free flight instructions for me ok maybe not free but reduced. And if they wanted to train someone else all they would have to pay is a half of the operational cost per hour and fuel. I understand there is quite an upkeep for an airplane, maintenance, annuals, engine overhauls insurance etc. but i would be paying those. So would it make sense for me to do something like this. A couple of things that I thought about was first it will help the instructor and it would also ultimately be helping me get my ratings. As far as the instructor is concerned the student will actually be paying for the aircraft rental and any thing above the cost of the half of the operational cost they can keep. So if the operational cost is 120 per hour they only pay me 60 and if they charge their student 100 dollar per flight hour they make an additional 40 on top of what ever they charge for the instructors time. So would this be really worth it for in the end I would get my private, ifr license and have an airplane to fly. Any thought to this would be appreciated.
