A 2nd career pilot has plenty to offer the industry. With age comes experience, not just flying experience, but life experience. A lot of 22 yr. old FO's dont have squat for "life" experience. And I am not bashing the younger guys and gals, I am sure there are plenty of excellent candidates out there, just that the younger ones are without skills to deal with certain situations that experience would help with. There is the maturity factor also, just read the threads and you will see that a lot of them seem as if they were written bye a 10th grader. Just keep your goals in perspective and you will find success. And success is not measured in dollars but quality of life and how others will remember you when your good and gone!

Started at 23 after stint with Uncle Sam. Spent 2.5 years getting Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI, CFII, and Associates degree. Spent 2 more years finishing the 'ol Bachelor's degree while Instructing, gettin my MEI, and building time. Regional FO at 27. Just turned 29 two days ago & the goal was to make Captain by 30 so we'll see what happens.

Started at 13...soloed at 16, then because of AF basic/tech school wasn't able to get the private until 18. Continued with the instrument, multi, etc. at 20.
