They also have a reputation for being a maintance hog. Investigate the cost of insurance for a light twin before you purchase. Without extensive multi time you might find the cost...thrilling. If you are still serious, consider an older light twin with 200 hp engines, such as a Duchess, Travel Air, or if you can find one Grumman Cougar. Still, you are probably looking at around $200 to $220 hour for 100 hours of operation at current fuel prices, without considering the intial cost of puchase.
