Haaste Acronym

Hi, can someone please tell me what the acronym HAASTE stands for?
Thanks

PhantomAir 05-23-2007 01:21 PM

Wow, I'm amazed that nobody knows that one.
It's something to do with maintainance. Like A1TAPE

The Answer

Okay, out of over 81 views, nobody knew the answer. But after today with my check airman, I finally found out the answer. Apparently HAASTE is a little outdated and was replaced by A1TAPE.
So here it is,
H= 100 HOUR inspection
A= ANNUAL inspection
A= ALTIMETER (every 24 calendar months)
S= pitot STATIC system (every 24 calendar months)
T= TRANSPONDER (every 24 calendar months)
E= EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER (every 12 months or 1 continuous hour of operation or 1/2 the battery life)

A= ANNUAL inspection
1= 100 hour inspection
T= TRANSPONDER (every 24 calendar months)
A= ALTIMETER (every 24 calendar months)
P= PITOT static system (every 24 calendar months)
E= EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER (every 12 months or 1 continuous hour of operation or 1/2 the battery life)

100-hour only for planes for hire, correct?

oldveedubs 05-25-2007 05:59 PM

I always learned AVIATES

AD's
VOR 30 day
Inspection (Annual and/or 100hr)
Altimeter
Transponder
ELT
Static

the King 05-25-2007 09:36 PM

Yeah, we definitely used AVIATE. Different strokes...

skirtinstorms 05-26-2007 04:31 AM

So PhantomAir, is your DE telling you that you can disregard the ADs?

usmc-sgt 05-26-2007 03:16 PM

I use AV1ATE(A) and the 1 is used as an I

Annual
Vor
100 hour
Altimeter (linked in with the pitot static)
Transponder
Elt

I had heard of all of the above mentioned, except for VOR 30 day. Can you please elaborate? Does this mean VOR equipment needs to be checked every 30 days? I have been switched to my 3rd CFI and am about to go for PPL checkride and have not read/been informed of this...Yikes!
