Default Flight safety international furloughs?

Any truth to the fact that FSI has furloughed Pilot instructors? I passed the phone screening and my in person interview has been delayed for a few months. I’ve heard rumors of furloughs having taken place.

Any insight on how it is to work there, what a typical schedule is like, starting pay etc is appreciated. I’ve read some old posts but nothing recent. Dfw is the fsi I’m looking at.

I was at recurrent at FSI just about 2 weeks ago. Sim 2, no instructor. They fired/furloughed a number of them with no warning. They didn't know until they showed up at work.

Yes. FSI froze all hiring and furloughed about 700 instructors. Right now the furlough lasts through July 31st. Beyond that...no idea.

Could be recalled, could extend the furlough, could fire people on August 1.

And tm602 is correct. I finished my recurrent class, got called in, and immediate furlough. No warning.

Old posts are still relevant. Starting pay is (was?) 80-90k, depending on location. Schedule and QOL depend on the center and program.

How many instructors at FSI?

I take it lots of training cancellations from 135 clients.

They were doing the airline work aswell from the STL center, I can imagine all that work dried up over night.
