A UND Seminole went missing carrying an instructor and student last night on a flight from St. Paul to Grand Forks... Hope everything turns out ok.

It's surprising to hear they were in contact with ATC and nothing out of the ordinary was reported prior to them up and vanishing.

Hopefully it was just a failure which took out their radios and forced them to ditch and they're alright.

Rest In Peace to Annette Klosterman and Adam Ostapenko. I knew Annette and she was a great person.

They were receiving flight following and they cancelled it at that time do to a lack of radar coverage in that area. That is what the last transmission was with ATC.

Nothing worse than an Instructor going down with a student. Can't really explain why I feel that way, maybe because of all the future aspirations that are never completed. I wonder what happened. I had a few friends passed in my time. Hardest part is facing the family. Sometimes regardless of the outcome they just don't understand. I guess I can't blame them.

Stay in or around flying long enough and you will know more than you care to that have met a similar fate. I lost ten friends while on active duty in two accidents. Will be interesting down the road to see what the NTSB turns up for a cause.
