Yeah. Having a degree shows you can dedicate yourself to a log term goal and have somewhat acceptable study habits. This suggests you'll be more likely to be successful with the intensity level of pilot training. Not that NOT having a degree means you couldn't be successful, either, but they make the rules, so you might as well set yourself up for success.

This post is NOT "Which area should I get my degree" but as to the extent people are getting ANY degree... I know most regionals are hiring "High School Degree required" with a few stipulating "College education preferred." So basically some regionals can be hiring people with just a highschool/GED education. Dont most majors require at least a BS or at least an Associates? Is there any thought on getting a further degree such as a masters? I think a PhD in something would be WAY out there but I wonder if anyone has or is planning on getting one. Any thoughts on the topic? I know an AA Captain whose based out of MIA, has his PH.D. I'm sure he attained it well after he started for them. atp |
