Quick ATP Rating
#1
Anyone know a good QUALITY school to go and get an ATP rating. I heard all ATP offers a few courses but their scheduling takes forever. I am already flying for a 121 carrier and the upgrade is about 3-4 years right now. Florida is preferred but I will travel wherever in the U.S. to get this done.
Thanks

Well, do you want a quality school or a quick school to get the ATP? If you want the quickest, easiest way to do it, go to Sheble Aviation in Kingman, AZ. It's about $2000 and you'll finish in 2 days. As long as you can hand fly an approach, it a cake walk; the easiest checkride I've ever taken. They give you a packet about 5 pages long to study and all questions in the oral are directly from that. My oral was only 4 questions while I was flying with the examiner.
The only problem is the airplanes are junk and the flight school isn't any better. Plan on about 1.5 to 2 hours in the air and you might have to fly to Las Vegas to do an ILS (about 30 minutes away).

Pretty good setup. Only $2700, which includes lodging. Located halfway between Columbus and Starkville MS at Golden Traingle Airport.

I used Action Multi-Ratings (Groton, CT) for both my multi-engine commercial instrument and multi-engine instructor certificates. And I plan to use them for my ATP. They use a Seneca I and training typically lasts 3 days. When you schedule your training dates and pay the $175 deposit they will send you the study materials, which includes a (open book) pre-training written test. They expect you to arrive prepared, so make sure to study and complete the pre-training written test prior to arriving.
