IPC question
#1
I recently got my multi commercial add on. As part of the checkride I flew an approach with foggles, which extends instrument privileges to the new class of aircraft. Does this count as an IPC in terms of currency? I have looked in the FARs and not found any direct answers.

I disagree. I think you are confusing an IPC for a Flight Review. A Flight Review resets when you pass a pilot proficiency check (61.56(d)). This section says nothing about an instrument proficiency check. If instrument currency were to reset at the completion of a pilot proficiency check, then it would directly say so in 61.57 (which it does not).
So, my interpretation is that your currency runs out 6 calendar months after the first of your last 6 approaches, even if that was before your checkride. Now, it also says your examiner can sign off an IPC. So, if you're concerned, maybe you can talk to him/her.
Besides, you did at least 5 approaches preparing for the checkride before you felt comfortable losing an engine inside the FAF, right?!
