CHEAP Multiengine opportunity

I recently purchased a Cessna 310 for the purpose of building Multiengine time. I plan to build 200-300hr within the next 3-4 months. I am willing to split the time if you will buy the fuel. (15-20gal/hr)

The plane is nothing spectacular. She has a basic IFR package. Most important, she has 2 engines to build the ever important Multi-time. This is definately the cheapest way to buy multi-time anywhere.

Let me know if interested.

Wes

Gentlemen, this is a Cessna 310. I'm offering this airplane for the cost of fuel. Now, you mean to tell me that you dont have the money to buy a ticket to Atlanta to fly the thing? Delta from Denver-$289, Delta from Cincinatti-$209. Gimme a break, does anyone want to build time or what?

This is a serious offer...I'm a fulltime Firefighter/Paramedic. Not some spoiled rich kid that daddy bought him a plane. I worked my ass off to purchase a plane to build time so that I can quit my job of 11 years to make $29k with a regional airline. Do I sound frustrated yet?

Ok, the airlines are my dream and there yours too. Now, lets pay the piper and get this time knocked out.

wmarti31 03-20-2008 06:50 AM

Vector2Final,

Are you an MEI?

Strikern40015 03-20-2008 07:59 AM

Done Deal

I'm very interested in the time building with you. I can make it to Atlanta in no time. I'm currently in South FL working as a CFI. I have 1700TT 16 Multi and current in IFR. Please send your contact info to [email protected] and we can work out the arrangements. How fast and how much time can you or are you willing to do in say 5 or 6 days? I'm looking to burn it up and get it done ASAP. Please let me know soon!!

Mike

Same here, only with CFI... need about that many more multi hours also, what you need the MEI for then? PM me so we dont kill the original posters intent with this.

Ewfflyer 03-21-2008 05:18 AM

If this was about 3yrs ago, I'd taken you up. I have 2000 hours in C310's(mainly the r-model). Anyone that's serious about this should go for it. A C310 is a great airplane, learn its' systems, it's definately a neat plane.

I have to let my CFI side out and remind folks that I'm guessing this offer is going to be a split of Safety Pilot time, so make sure one of you is wearing the hood, work a lot on instrument approaches and working within the ATC system. There are a lot of great outlying airports in the ATL area that you can shoot approaches all day and not really affect the flow of traffic. I don't know if it's equipped or not, but I highly recommend NO AUTOPILOT. This is the time for folks to really build their hand-flying skills and a proper scan.

**Off Soapbox**

Oh yeah, have a great time with it, sounds like fun!

Wanted to PM you, but couldn't. I'm in CO, but would be around NY & RI for a few day in May or June.

mcartier713 03-23-2008 07:55 PM

for those of you who have planes that wanna split time, is there a certain amount of time you'd want someone to commit to? like 50 hours? 20 hours? 100 hours? 10 hours? whatev...?

cfii2007 03-24-2008 02:17 PM

California anyone?

What are the specifics on this? I'm from upstate NY and and interested in time building....

Motox2818 03-24-2008 03:10 PM

Wmarti31, Mcartier713 and Cakeonit...there are no minimum times I would like to fly the twin. We can talk about costs at some later point when I can PM you guys. What I can tell you is that when I take the airplane up i can get the total cost to between $185-$195 per hour. I have a new thread that begins with SENECA IN CT...please post future questions in there and we can commumicate in there until I can accept PM's.

Motox2818 03-24-2008 03:13 PM

cakeonit...i didnt answer your question.....i am looking to do several things with the multi time building. 1) build multi time 2) go to some cool places 3) not for anyone I time build with to only build time performing st8 and level flight enroute...we will be spending some time doing some engine outs and approaches and stuff...all stuff that will build hours and skills. I am an MEI as well.

Hey Vector; I live in NC, but can drive down and fly with you on some weekends if that would work.

Trying to contact

Hey Vector,
Just trying to contact you on your offer.Maybe you have been out of town due to easter.

Cessnan1315efw 04-02-2008 06:13 PM

first off......how does a Cessna310 burn 15-20GPH????? not sure which model you own but the first and lowest engine model has 2 IO470's 240 HP.. A piper twin comanche probably the best twin time builder has 2 C172 engines, IO320's 160HP and burns around 16-18GPH total. maybe 15-20 GPH per side out of that thing. the one C310 i flew in burned 32GPH at 75% power. now Im sure we're gonna be cruising at 55% power but what could that possibly put us at 25-28GPH and thats if you have the early model 310?

denniseach 04-04-2008 03:15 PM

anybody in the sf bay area of N. california looking to split multi time?

flyboyshell 04-05-2008 09:12 AM

I would jump on that if it were living in that area.

Vector2Final 04-07-2008 01:42 PM

Hey everyone,
Sorry for the late update....I have been inundated with email regarding this opportunity. Well, the C310 prebuy inspection failed (miserably). The annual (prebuy) revealed corrosion on both main spar. Therefore, the plane will likely be totalled. Fortunately, this happened during the thorough prebuy inspect, so no money was lost on my end.

So, I'm back to the drawing board regarding time building. I will likely abandon my search for another aircraft, and likely just rent an a/c for 100+ hours. Good luck to everyone and thanks for replying.

Not to beat you down but your first post said you already owned the aircraft. Why?

Quite different than waiting on a pre-buy to be done.

Vector2Final 04-07-2008 05:14 PM

Sorry bud, my intentions were to offer an great deal others...not to **** anyone off. I suppose I failed to remember the "six P's" (proper planning prevents **** poor performance) :D

All kidding aside...you make it sound as though I lied about the purchase...simply put...I committed to purchase this a/c, and the deal fell through. Kinda like buying a house that fails a termite inspection before closing. Sorry if your disappointed...welcome to the world of aviation.

For all others...If another prospective plane comes along for purchase...the same offer stands...However, I'll be sure to include the all the disclaimers in the post.:D

Not disappointed, I've already built my time...however, I didn't go around and tell folks I worked for UPS after the job offer while I was waiting to start ground school. I don't think you were trying to deceive anyone since I didn't see you asking for money upfront. Like you said though, a little more detail would probably be a good thing in the future so as not to get the wrong rep in the SMALL world of aviation, bud.
