Default Turned Down....

Hi all,

I put my application in about 3 days ago and today get a phone call from Ari Ben saying that they CAN'T take me due to a lack of MEI's. I wanted to get my multi add on to my SEL commercial/instrument ticket and start building time (50 hours) during my two week vaction from work. I realize that it would be pushing it to get it all done in that short time, but I would come back later and finish up my time building. Well, today Ari Ben calls me and says that they are not sure if they can even get just my multi add on done in two weeks.... What? They have so many students right now and no MEI's. I would have no problem time building, they said.....well I need to be rated in the plane before I fly. The time building is not problem b/c there is no need for a MEI.

Well does anyone have a suggestion for another place to get a multi add on in two weeks? Forget about time building now....I would just like to get that done first. Multi action ratings offers it for about 2,000 and Prairie Air Service for around 1,500...any other places for suggestion?

Thanks!

St. Charles Flying service in the St. Louis area. Prices are right, and they have MEIs on staff. They have a 3 day multi course and I'm sure they'd be willing to work with you.http://www.stcharlesflyingsvs.com

You may have to travel but call around and I'm sure you will find a place with plenty of MEI's.

This shortage of CFI's with advanced ratings has got to be the best thing to ever happen to instructors everywhere. If there is going to be a pilot shortage it is starting with CFIs. Now it remains to be seen if pay will come up for them.

Air America in Daytona Beach has plenty of MEIs. They have BE76s at 176/hr plus 32/hr for the instructor.
