University of Alaska-Anchorage?
Does anyone have information on UAA's flight program? I'm seriously considering going there for a flight degree since I'm tired of the nasty heat in Houston, and I'd like to train somewhere cold. From what I understand their flight program is still somewhat small, but growing rapidly. Any information would be useful.
Thanks

UAA, flies daimonds for most of there training. Good trainer but not the best for AK. We still do alot of gravel runway ops. They fly out of MRI, which during the summer is busy but they do a good job of getting everyone in and out. The commute to a pratice area is short (10 mins) with lots of airfields to choose from. You will have more weather xlds up here but you will get to fly in a bunch of differnt situations that will make you a better pilot. Plus the mountains are alot nicer to look at. Besides UAA, there are few FBO that could that you may consider.
I did alot of flying in PHX before moving up here and don't regret it one bit.

How does UAA handle flight schedules? Do you sign up for a certain time and date at the beginning of the semester and keep that same block for the whole semester like at Riddle, or are the times flexible? I'm looking at taking UAA courses through EArmyU then taking flight courses after I leave the army.
