private pilot certificate
85 total time
-25 hours cross country PIC time

85 hours in a 172 at $80-120 hours wet (depends on location, age, and equipment). $6800-10,200. Cross country time should be the same

If that's what a flight school is quoting you for your private, move on. At two to three times per week you should be able to get it done in about 60 hours.
