Keep in mind that every time you start a new job you go to first year pay. You may have a decent job making say 60k or so and then you go somewhere else and back to 30k a year. Live well within your means and stash something for the inevitable lay off.
I'm starting a new job next week and taking a 60% pay cut. I think the qol is much better and in the end my pay will catch up and eventually pass my old scale, but it will take years. |
Now that is something about the aviation industry I just don't understand - I can understand going to the bottom of the seniority list when starting a new job but other then type rating why would have to start at the bottom? I understand that's the way it is but dang that makes no sense.

It makes perfect sense to me.
I'd suggest you go to www.jetcareers.com and read the airline, corporate, and perspectives, links. You own it to yourself to go into this biz educated on how things work, and why. |
thanks for the link and your time.
