I'm currently going to be a senior there now. I can tell you it's a great tight knit program at a fun college to be at. The flight program itself is pretty competitive, but if you don't make it in the first time around you can try to switch into it from a different major. That also is competitive, but is possible if you get good grades (probably >3.5).

I'd say top 15% of your class in HS with at least a 1300 SAT (old test, sorry I don't know the new one well). I guess that equates to like a 30 ACT.

Let me know if you have more questions.

What he said... I worked my tail off the last 2 years of high school to get awesome grades and worked on the SATs and extra garbage. I got in with a 3.7 though high school excelling in math and 1350 on my SAT. Sadly enough I turned in my application in 1 month to late and they said I would have to wait 1 year and I didn't want to do that... So I went to Purdue/Vincennes at the airport in Indianapolis and got an A.S. and A&P in 2 years for around 8k.

Right now I am currently at Delta Connection Academy and taking classes at Embry to finish my Professional Pilot degree. Best of luck to you

Kurt

Yes the application for flight used to be November 15 and I'm pretty sure it still is. Make sure that you have everything done ASAP as that will definitely help your chances. Double check the deadline at the Purdue website.

Good luck.

If you go to Purdue with a private certificate in hand, you will get credit for the associated courses and skip right to the beginning of commercial/instrument training. DO NOT get your instrument before going, as you will have to take the courses anyway and will throw away thousands of dollars.
As far as Purdue's education, Boilermakers are the best, yet least cocky pilots in the biz.
