Default The OSU?

I know the OSU has a flight program, but I couldn't find any information about working there. Any leads, anyone?

They have a pretty good program. I went to a rival program in Michigan although I competed against OSU on flight team.

Here is there site: Department of Aviation - The Ohio State University

If you are looking for somewhere to earn a degree and flight instruct try Western Michigan Univ.

Oregon State U has a flying club as well.... although I don't think a formal aviation program.

No. Sporty's works with the University of Cincinnati.

"The" Ohio State University. The school insists on this title; the rest of the country sighs and giggles.

As an Ohio State Aviation Alumni, I would honestly look elsewhere for an aviation degree. If you are from Ohio, I would try Ohio University. Their program seems to be a lot nicer then ours. In the Midwest, I would also look into Western Michigan and Purdue.

My logic is this......I graduated in 2002 and the program hasn't changed at all. I ended up getting a degree in Aviation Management due to the cost of flight school. I got all my certificates at a Part 61 school (spent $25,000 for everything up to CFI and Multi) at Bolton Field. I have friends that did their flying at OSU and graduated with just a Commercial Certificate and maybe a Multi. Most other schools will get you through your MEI and maybe some sim time in an old 727 (Purdue) or equivalent. Some other schools even have a King Air that you might be able to fly (again Purdue from what friends have told me and maybe OU). The best thing you can do is compare the coursework at each school which is generally available on their department website. This will give you an idea of how in depth each program goes into.

Honestly, I would major in something other than aviation. I know you've probably have read this a million times on this board. I would suggest business or engineering. Currently I'm furloughed and it's been really tough finding something outside of aviation. (Nothing like being 29 and having to move back in with the Mom)

Now about OSU. I don't regret one minute of my time there and really enjoyed the Big Ten experience.

Feel free to PM me with any other questions.

Go Buckeyes!

Bryan
