ATP Flight School CFI Program
Hey, does anybody have any insight on ATP's CFI Program. Do they generally hire new instructors strictly from the career pilot programs, or do they hire a lot of cfi program grads as well? Thanks!

They don't only hire career pilots. That is just the majority of the instructors. I know plenty of people who did just the CFI program or some other program with ATP. I know of a couple who never did any program with ATP, they just applied and got hired.

They occasionally hire students who do the short programs. I did the MIFR10, and first CFI Program at FTY. Even with an instructor recommendation & 4 faxed resumes over 2 years, I didn't get hired. It's a fun program and they have great instructors. I'd recommend it for anyone.

ctd57, do you actually ever fly alone or are you always with a partner or CFI when you fly at ATP? How many hours is one student good for for a CFI? How long do you fly as a CFI before looking for a job? What are your chances of getting a CFI job, if you just did the ME CFI training at ATP hand have just regular single time.
