Default Student Loans?

Is there anyway to get a loan for flight training which is similar to the student loans which I have for college? It would certainly make things seem more affordable if I could get my PPL done sometime in the next 4 years, and not have to begin making payments on those loans till after I graduate.

FWIW, I plan on going the military route so I won't be going past the PPL in terms of civilian training.

Thanks
David

No there isn't.

You probably could get an unsecure loan depending upon what your credit score is.

The loan market has dried up.
But if you are just talking about funding your private then you could put it on your credit card but not the best idea.
Do your best to stay debt free in these tough economic times.
Work hard, save up and pay as you go.
Have fun and good luck.

If I'm not mistaken, having a Private certificate may not be worth the costs if you're going into the military. Unless it's a serious deal-breaker, don't spend the $8k to get a license that may not make much of a difference. Now if this is just for fun, well, start saving.

If you're going to school, you may be able to borrow more than your actual tuition costs...(stafford) and put that "excess" money to flying especially if you worked all summer or something (which I recommend) I think we had a thread about this before...There are several options out there just keep researching.. it kind of depends on how hold you are... if you are young you may not discount joining the air guard enlisted and going to school (here in FL they pay 100%, and use any other money to fly, work hard in the unit, go to school, and you may be able to get a guard pilot slot ... which according to most on this forum is the best deal going)
