Multi Night Currency Counting for Single?
I am trying to keep current in both single engine and multi right now, and to save some money, it would be nice to find out if my multiengine night currency can count for my single as well. I know that the regulations state that the 90 day currency must be done for each category and class, but in the same theory that night currency counts for day, than how come multi currency can’t count for single? For now I am taking the conservative route, but it would be nice to know anyone else has come across this before.

You say you've got a CFI, do you know what the definition of "class" is?

Yes, I do know what the definition of class is. I even stated at the beginning that I understand that currency applies only to category, class (and type), but I wanted to know if anyone was aware of any weird FAA interpretation where they allow multi currency to count for single.

A weird FAA interpretation?
The FARs SPECIFICALLY state: category, CLASS, and type.
I don't see where the confusion is coming from. There's no loopholes here, the FAA makes it pretty clear...
