Smile THANK YOU ALL!!! Just got my PPL

I just want to thank everyone that posts advice for all the newbies like myself. Last year I was ready to run off and join the circus (DCU in Sanford) but after reading all the advice on here I kept my job and stayed home. Now after almost a year ( I know, slower than most) I just got my Private’s License at my local FBO today and was able to pay for it all out of pocket, no financing whatsoever!!! I have completed my instrument written and now I am about to start my instrument flying. So once again.. THANK YOU ALL!!! Because I am debt-free and still flying!!!

I want to be the first to congratulate you on your PPL and the fact that you did it without incurring debt. This is what APC is about - we have to help each other achieve our dreams and goals. If we do not, nobody else will.

Please keep us updated on your progress. And again, congratulations.

QC, you are doing it the way I tell everyone to do it, and how I did it. Unless one is on a free ride paid for by the Government, they should get their ratings one by one paying for them as they go. Commercial aviation in this country is too fickle to justify massive loans.

OUCH Cub! I might not pay with money for my ratings - but I certainly would not consider it a "free ride"

Btw QC - nice job serving as a model for others to follow - and good job!

I really appreciate the kind words. it was not easy but my first step is completed. I am also following other's advice and majoring in a non-aviation field (accounting). I"ll keep you posted when i get my Instruments!
