Default Citation Bravo or Ultra

I recently just found out that I won a scholarship for a type rating at Simuflite in Dallas. I have the choice between the Citation 500, LRJET, and Beechjet type rating. I have all but decided on the Citation 500 type but now I must decide between the II, V, Bravo or Ultra to do my training in. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on which airframe to train in. Right now I am definitley leaning towards the Bravo or Ultra. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

In this job market, if you have a line on a company, get a type in what they fly. If not then go with which ever model is the newest. The technology has changed quite a bit between those models listed. Speaking from experience I have the the LR-Jet and LR-60 PIC types (see my name). After 1500 hours in the 35 and 55, the 60 was a gift from my employer. The plane is 30 years younger, nicer avionics/equipment, less problematic. The Beechjet is and older airframe as is the C-500. That being said I would go with the Bravo or the Ultra. Also many companies and fracs, only fly newer airframes. There are a still quite a few companies operating the others (especially the Lear), but it may make your job search easier. One note though, the LR-Jet covers every model Lear Jet from 23, 24, 25, 35, 36, 55, and few in between. Clearly I'm not experienced as deftly with the other models, but I hope this helps. Good Luck

Just my 2 cents.

How did you get a scholarship to Simuflite?

Thanks a lot for the advice. They offer the scholarship to aviation students who are seniors or just recently graduated from a school that is part of the University Aviation Association (UAA). I graduated in May 2008 and was recommended by one of my schools charter pilots who I got to fly with my senior year. It is a unbelievable opportunity but I really don't have any leads on any jobs. My goal is to fly corporate/charter but right now I am just happy to have my flight instructing position at the university I graduated from. Again thanks for the input.
