I work at the IASCO facility in Napa. I can tell you this:
The chief up in Redding came from Napa. He is a conscientious, fun, fair guy (used to be my boss). Redding has been open for about a year and seems to be ramping up pretty nicely. Started with 20 students and now they are to 70 from a couple different airlines. Mx is good. IASCO is a good company to work for in general. They have been around for a long time and there are a lot of quality people here. I don't know much about the pay or benefits (think it's around $17-$20 per hour). But the work is there if you want it. Overall, it'd be a good place to hang for a year or so to build experience and break even financially until something better comes along... Good luck! |
Iasco
I'm also headed there this weekend, I've heard some good things about the place.

JAL is history. i wonder what's the move for IASCO?

ALRIGHT I DO HAVE INFO...the company is VERY hard on the Chinese students...my guess is IASCO policy. I worked there as a Dispatcher and also worked at Ground/Flight Campuses. Yes, pay for a CFI starts at $17 and ends at about $21 depending on if you are certified as Private, Instrument, etc. They are not exactly 'easy' on the CFI's either but if you are a good instructor and don't get a student that wants to flunk out to go back to China--then you are doing good.
I learned quickly that having an "in" knowing someone there gets you a job easily--knowing no one there? NOT so easy. But good luck--hope this helps answer your questions, and if you want to pick my brain more go right ahead-they just let me go recently- and it is ripe for the picking! |
