No idea about Fort Worth, but in general if you can cover the PTS you'll be fine. We all worry about check rides but by the time you're scheduling a CFI ride you probably know more than most of us..... Don't worry you'll eventually forget it all too. Good Luck!

Well, for me, it was easier than I thought. The oral was a separate day from the practical, so I had to make two trips. I was on active duty at the time based up at Sheppard working a swing shift. That morning I had to drive down to AFW, have a 9 hour oral, drive back, and then report for duty!
My examiner was pretty cool. He was Navy Reserve, so I think that helped me out. He asked A LOT OF QUESTIONS and gave a bunch of scenarios. I made sure that what I got wrong or didn’t understand, that I took notes to make it look like I was really interested in getting it right. I did have to give a teach back and he let me pick my topic.
For the practical, I drove to US Flight Academy in Denton and borrowed their Arrow. The entire flight took 2 hours….same examiner. We spent more time running our mouths about the military than training seemed like.
You’ll do fine. Those guys are cool as long as you know what you’re doing. Study and be confident….you’ll do fine!
