Seeking partner for CRJ PC
I would like to schedule a CRJ 700 PC in the next few weeks. The cheapest place I found so far is Pan Am in Minneapolis. By myself it will cost $5495, but if two of us sign up for the same time slot it will be discounted to $3450 each. If you are interested let me know. Bob at [email protected].

Seriously?

I think I already know the answer, but I'm going to go ahead and ask it anyway on the slight chance it might actually ring true and get through to you:
Why don't you just keep paying your dues at whatever job you have now, bide your time honing your skills and knowledge, then study hard and prepare so you'll get hired at a regional when the economy turns around and have them pay you to get this training done? Let me be perfectly clear: What you are proposing cheapens the profession and hurts us all. |
Probably works for the school. If not, do you really want to spend a week with a dude who fancies himself an E6B whiz?
|
I thought maybe we was trying to get current during a furlough or something. Maybe wants to go to some foreign outfit that requires it. No idea, I'm probably not interested but I won't automatically pass judgement either.

I understand the not paying concept, however if Delta said "go get a 737 "Type and you have a job tomorrow." I would be hard not to pass that opportunity up. I have no problem paying for the right opprotunity.
In today's environment you need to stand out. If a CRJ class is going to get you hired over the next guy then go for it. |

Not everyone in the world Operate the way we "USA" do. and like someone said if Ma Delta said go get a Type in such or get current in such and such and we will give you a conditional offer, If I am not mistaken Southwest still require you to get the Type correct me if I am wrong! at any rate dont be so Quick to JUDGE |
I think some of the judgment has to do with the fact that we that actually fly the CR7 for a living don't even have an extra $3500 laying around to spend on rent or student loan payments. Why doesn't he make a deal that he'll work for free for the first month if THEY pay for it. That's one month pay for an FO on the CR7 at most airlines in the US. I'm not one to dump one months pay for the possibility of maybe being able to have a pilot job. But that's just me. I have more important things to spend my money on.

You make 3500 a month as an FO on a CRJ7? Sign me up for that, your regional > my regional.
