Default Best Florida Airports

I'm headed down to Florida in about a week or so to do some multi-engine time building. Anyone have suggestions on good stops in Flordia?

KXFL - Flagler County - there's a pretty decent restaurant there, Hi-jackers...

Not to mention the best pilots of all time learned to fly around those parts

Stop in KCGC ( Crystal River, FL ) and say hello! Albert Whitted is a great place to fly into and you are in walking distance to the St. Petersburg pier. Great Restaurant on the corner called Fresco's. Cedar Key is another good destination. Short runway but it's a small island with great seafood. And Venice Florida ( KVNC) has Sharky's Pier within walking distance of the Airport. It's on the Gulf with beautiful views and a nice restaurant!

KFMY has free hotdogs, chips, drinks, and cookies on Fridays around lunchtime. KVNC has 2 good restaurants on field, and one not too far off it. KSRQ has one of the nicest FBOs I've ever seen (Rectrix)...plus the girls that work there aren't bad either.

Go west and hit 82J Ferguson field. 3500 ft paved and 4000 grass. Great folks and they will take you over to the museum at Pensacola to check it out for a few hours!

Ferguson Airport

KTMB - Kendall Tamiami Executive, probably my favorite airport to fly into in FL
KFXE - Ft. Lauderdale Executive, go to Banyan Air FBO...nicest FBO I've ever been to
KTPF - Tampa Oknight, only a few miles from downtown
KBCT - Boca Raton, a lot around the area

DTS - Destin FL up in the panhandle. Grab the courtesy car and get lunch at the Back Porch or Fudpuckers.

SGJ - St. Augustine south of Jacksonville. Great place to eat on the airport, watch all the aerobatic shennanigans, visit the Grumman facilities.

TPF - Peter O Knight. Five minutes to the middle of downtown Tampa, all kinds of stuff to do there

APF - Naples. Get the courtesy car, go to Michlebobs BBQ, get the feast for two. Make sure you don't top off with gas because you'll be fatter and way over gross when you get done eating.

EYW - Key West. Need I say more? Catch a cab to the square, pick a place to eat. Recommend Schooners or the Conch Republic.

Indiantown... 6000+ feet of grass. Cheap gas. Look out for cows on the runway
