Made calls to both Air Flamenco and Vieques Air Link and the response from both was "Do you have an ATP?" Maybe it will be different once I get down there.

I have a misdemeanor conviction from 9 years ago that was dismissed that will bar me from getting a position with any 121 carriers for at least another year, but I'll apply anyway once I arrive in PR.

Vieques Air Link and Flamenco are not doing on-demand flights anymore, only schedule, that's the reason they want ATP pilots.
Air America require IFR minimums, a friend is working there, and yes, the owner is not very friendly.
You can try M&N, Roblex and Air Cargo Carriers at SJU, cargo operators with short-360, sometimes they need f/o.
Seaborne is not hiring at the moment.
Isla Grande have many schools you can try, there is always looking for cfi.

Thanks for the info. CDN. Never heard of Roblex before, but I'll check them out. Do you have any idea what they want for FO mins? Couldn't find anything on the forum or their website.

Today I called Roblex to see if they're hiring for F/Os. They're not, but are expecting to in 3 to 4 months. I then asked what their typical minimums are, 1,000TT with 100ME and they do NOT require a Shorts type rating, they provide it. I should have those mins in a few months, I'll send 'em a resume then.

Sweet, maybe I'll see you down there. It will be a little longer for me until I get to those mins. Good luck to you!

About Roblex, is more about the ppl you know working there. They don't care about your past experience, if you have a friend working there then they gonna call you.
Just keep trying and a bit of luck.

I was mistaken, after doing some research it is not on the untouchables list. A couple hundred more hours and I'll be in the running.

CDN, can you recommend a particular flight school in San Juan, or are they all pretty much on the same level?

That could be a little bit of a haul if you're living on the West side of the island.
Interviewed at Silver Wings a couple of days ago and should be starting on Tuesday or Wednesday. Great facility and awesome owner. I can't wait to do a little flying around the tropics. Thanks for all the input everyone.
