Helping a prospect
Hi guys,
I have been reading forums endlessly and came to a conclusion that flight training is expensive! I guess it didn't take genious to figure that out. I kept thinking how the heck will I ever pay for training. . . money? Dont have that, my mom takes all the money I work for the mortgage of the house. Loans? even if it were possible I would sell my sould at those interest rates without any gaurntees at the end of the tunnel. Hmm... what else, ah, a rich relative. . . dont have one of those. What to do now, and then here comes the part that might me you flame me, but please don't. I am just frustrated and losing hope in this. How much would you do to help a prospective pilot get in? Would you be willing to donate money for flight training? I work at an airport on the ramp and always thought like asking pilots as well, but I didnt want to look like a complete loser so I will do this online first. I guesstimate that flight training will cost somewhere around 27,000, with private already done, which somehow I hope I can pay myself. Is there a way that I can recieve enough donation to go through the training? What are you willing to do to help someone who dreams? Thanks for hearing me out and please do not look down on me. On the off chance that this is not a scam...
A more realistic approach for someone in your position would be to find a job/career that pays reasonably well...it might just be something where you can pull a lot of OT to rack up the dough. Once you have your income up, then do flight training part-time on the side until you can qualify for a CFI job. |
not a scam
No, this is not a scam. Im just frustrated and feeling a little hopeless thats all. I dont know of a job that will pay reasonbly well for me though. I get paid near minimum wage and nearly all my money goes to my mother, who informs me that she can no longer pay for the house and needs my paycheck. So I am not moving anywhere in terms of money. I cant just let my mom end up liek that, but now I have no money for myself. Just thinking aloud.

From what I understand to get to a CFI position you have to go through your private, commercial, and then CFI, also wouldnt it be more benificial to have an instrument as well? Is there anyone else on the board who has done it this way to make an airline career out of it?

Minimum wage? Supporting family members? No education (presumably)? Doesn't look likely, bud. Most people don't get what they want. I'll never play for the Bucs, and you'll never be an airline pilot. Hopefully someday you can get to school. The Army College Fund and MGIB are wonderful, to say the least. http://www.goarmy.com/benefits/education_money.jsp

Dude you don't live in Cuba. Get over youself and do something about it. This is America, not only can you do whatever you want, but you can have 2nd or 3rd chances if you fail.
Nobody is going to give you any money for free, you have to work for it. You have to figure out of way of solving your mother's problems first. You can't go out and train if she's dependent on you. Tell your mom to go to work, if you live in a house, sell it to make money for training. If you can't do any of these you might want to go and take a loan for all your training(90% of student pilots don't have the money to flight train). But first, get rid of your mom as a dependent. |
Actually I just re-read your posts. Are you high?? You're paying for you mom's morgage? Unless she is terminally ill or has a terrible disablity you have no responsibility to your parents much less pay for their morgage.

Look for aviation schools. Part 141 schools usually have their own loan programs geared towards flying. Much better than normal student loans.

No I am not high. My mother just had another child bout two years ago, since then she has said that she cannot work because she has a child, and thats why she needs me to work for her. I dont know what else to say to her.
