SES add on?
I'm debating adding on my SES in the next few weeks. I've found a local spot that says to expect 5-7 hours for an add on. Anybody who has done it before, does that sound pretty realistic?
I was looking at using Texas Seaplanes, but if anyone has other suggestions I'm happy to hear. |

That's not too bad at all. The curriculum looks pretty simple, just focusing on the taxiing, takeoffs and landings.
The place I'm looking at uses a Maule to do their training...anyone have anything good or bad to say about it? Quirks to watch out for? |
It took me 4.1 with a 1 hour checkride over the course of two days. You just keep doing takeoffs and landings until you run out of water, turn around and repeat.
Have fun with the 180 step taxi! |
5.2 hours including checkride. Funest 5.2 hours I've ever flown. Piper Cub on floats. Sheble's Aviation.

Got mine in 8 hours flying a Lake LA4-180. I spread the training out over a Summer which wasn't the best idea. I probably would have been finished in 6 hours if I did it within a couple of weeks.
