The air controls are on the middle console between the right and left seat. You can adjust the vents overhead also. Left seat I had a small plastic scoop I stuck out the tiny window slot to get some air, right seat I just kept the door open until takeoff. The vents are pretty much useless until your airborne.

I hate those birds. Even if the blowers are working to help move some air in the over-head ducting, usually they are so out of shape the motor doesn't run up to speed, or the ducts have been pinched/blocked/destroyed that they don't work anyways.
The door being open is about the best bet, but hard to hold open from the left seat.
