Default MEL vs CPL

Should I get my MEL now or get my CPL first then CFI? I'm having a hard time deciding. Any advice? I have 236tt.

I suggest getting your Commercial then CFI, then you can get a job to help pay for the MEL addon (which is quite easy by itself).

Sad fact is multi time isn't going to come easy regardless, so you may as well invest in something like CFI where you can actually grab a job.

Defiantly get at least the Commercial first before the Multi. The Multi is an add on rating, if all you have is a Private, then your Multi will be a private. If you get your Commercial Single first, then you can do the Multi after and you will have Multi Commercial privileges..

Do the commercial first, absolutely. Instrument also if you don't have it. It is easier to add the multi after the fact. As stated previously, get the CFI if you are so inclined to help pay for multi time.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I will definitely go for my commercial. I just passed my Instrument in May, which was a huge weight off my shoulders. BTW, has anyone done any banner towing? I live in the San Diego area and have always wondered if it would be worth the risks involved???
