How was it this morning? I'm going up on friday - right before parent teacher conferences! hah!

The temperature was a cold 45 degrees and there was a stiff wind at BFI, but once we took off, I was greeted with the most beautiful views of Mt. Rainier, the Olympic range, Mt. Baker and Puget Sound. Looking down, I could see cars and people going about their business, and thought to myself how lucky I am to be up in the sky with not a care in the world. That was until my instructor, more for his own amusement than my education, decided he was going to show me how to stall the plane. Once was not enough for this fellow, he had to show me three times. I mean, enough already. Perhaps he wanted to see me use the barf bag knowing full well there was none onboard.
Then it was off to Paine Field for touch and go practice. The last one was a simulated emergency landing with no power whatsoever. Again, very funny pal, but it was actually a lot of fun. Did this three times before moving on to turns while using the hood. Man, I'm really good at that.
Pretty busy day at BFI. Had to dodge the usual Alaska MD-80s, other little planes and even one towing a banner touting some so-and-so for Supreme Court justice.
Next flying is Thursday. Sorry MHM. I am up to my eyeballs with bar association work on Friday.

Everything was great this morning. Got to fly my favorite plane, even though I found her with two loose screws and the wing tip held together with duct tape. (Hmmm, that's what my husband says about me!).

Bummer that I'll miss ya this time, but I might be around to do a favor for my man and I'll have them page you to see if you are around!

BFI is a crazy place to learn how to fly but it will make one heck of a good pilot out of you.
I was in the jumpseat of a UPS 757 landing on 31L yesterday. We got three seperate "traffic" advisories on the TCAS and one RA. The Capt, who is the chairman of the union's pilot training committe at UPS, said that was the most traffic advisories he's ever seen. He also made the comment, "this place is a zoo", on a three mile final. It's not the first time I've heard this comment from a UPS Capt at BFI.
Ya'll stay out of the way of the big brown planes at BFI, would ya...

I was doing my preflight one day and had just hoisted my large butt up to check the gas when a big brown plane landed on 31L. The noise and vibration almost made me fall off.
If you are ever at BFI again, look for me and my favorite plane. I'll be the one sitting at Alpha 9 for much longer than necessary. If you happen to be there when I takeoff, I'm the one with the signature zigzaggy maneuver. Can't fly straight. Good thing I'm not a cop because I probably can't shoot straight either.
