I got my commercial multi instrument add on last week at Skyventure Inc. in Fayetteville, AR. I wasn't able to find much on the internet about them, but chose them over others based on what I learned from talking to the owner/examiner and the little bit of info that is available online.

I have nothing but great things to say about the place. First of all it was extremely professional; from the appearance and branding on materials to the quality instruction and aircraft. They had all the supplies a student might need so there is no ordering and waiting for supplies.

The training. They advertise an 8.5 hour accelerated multi add on course for $2860 which basically works out to $300/hr for aircraft and instructor. Examiner fee is $350 on top. They were extremely accommodating and I was able to train for two days and then take the checkride the morning of the third day. After 5.0 dual (at $300/hr) I was ready for the checkride and left skyventure with 6.2 total. They did not have me flying more than I needed and my expenses were of high importance.

I was very happy when it was all over. Due to the accelerated nature of the training I found it to be pretty stressful and intense. I spent approx 12 hours at the airport for two days and studied in between flights. I HIGHLY recommend using Flight Simulator at home prior to getting to Skyventure. Download a Seneca 1 or 2 and start to build the muscle memory for engine failures. The sequence I used upon engine failure was: Maintain directional control, pitch attitude, airspeed; Mixtures props throttles full forward, gear up flaps up. Identify, verify close throttle, feather in critical phase of flight, then use troubleshooting checklist if not in critical phase. While flying the aircraft in real life I found it a good bit more difficult to execute those procedures than when doing them on flight simulator so stay disciplined and don't allow yourself large altitude and heading deviations when practicing. By memorizing and practicing this on flight sim you will definitely save yourself time and money.

MEI James Beckett offers room and board and transportation to and from the airport at a very fair rate.

Thank you Skyventure Inc.!
